Red Meat Country

For fellow rallyists, today’s journey had its fair share of twists and turns, starting with a Peugeot breaking down. Luckily, Michael got them back on the road. However, their joy was short-lived as the car decided to act up again later on. The Yellow Mercedes joined the ranks of the temporarily immobilized, requiring a tow back to Capetown!

Amidst the chaos, a pleasant surprise awaited us as the police stopped us for license checks. To our delight, they were not only efficient but surprisingly friendly, adding a positive twist to our day.

As the sun began to set, we found solace at the charming Mountain View Guest House in Springbok. Being in the heart of red meat country, we ventured to Torrin, a renowned steakhouse. While the service was exceptional, the delay in receiving our steaks was exceptionally lengthy. Thankfully we were complemented by great drinks and even better camaraderie, making for an unforgettable dining experience despite the initial hiccup.
